Developing resilience and wellbeing for GPs

Mental Health and Wellbeing Nurse Educator Training
There are ten modules available, five of which are face to face and five e-learning, and delegates can choose the modules they wish to take. The face to face modules are designed to equip those attending to also deliver training to their peers. The course is particularly helpful for nurses looking after patients with long term conditions and covers the following:
- Mental Health Awareness – provides an understanding of the various mental health issues
- Behaviour Change – supporting patients to change unhealthy behaviours
- Physical Health in Mental Illness – covers best practice in carrying out physical health checks and how to use the appropriate tools
- Wellbeing – offers practical advice and techniques to help patients to avoid stress
- Co-morbidities: using a psychological approach – offers guidance to delivering care using a holistic approach

Child and Adolescent Mental Health (Online learning)
Enables you to recognise the most common presentations of mental health difficulties in children and young people, and facilitates your understanding of the initial approach to management. Cases and discussion are used to illustrate the key points, in particular focusing on mood and behavioural problems

Veterans Health in General Practice (Online learning)
Covers the psychological and physical issues which are commonly faced by veterans and their families, and outlined some of the resources which are available to help them
E-learning module duration: 2 hours
Audience: GPs, practice nurses, healthcare assistants
Suicide Prevention (Online learning)
Module 1: Sets the scene on the problem of death by suicide. The interplay of numerous factors, culminating in suicidal behaviour, is discussed in order to highlight the various opportunities to intervene.
Module 2: Takes a case-based approach, focusing on the practical aspects of suicide prevention. The scenario is set in primary care, and includes useful strategies and resources for the mitigation of suicide.
