Mental Health and Wellbeing Nurse Educator Training
There are ten modules available, five of which are face to face and five e-learning, and delegates can choose the modules they wish to take. The face to face modules are designed to equip those attending to also deliver training to their peers. The course is particularly helpful for nurses looking after patients with long term conditions and covers the following:
- Mental Health Awareness – provides an understanding of the various mental health issues
- Behaviour Change – supporting patients to change unhealthy behaviours
- Physical Health in Mental Illness – covers best practice in carrying out physical health checks and how to use the appropriate tools
- Wellbeing – offers practical advice and techniques to help patients to avoid stress
- Co-morbidities: using a psychological approach – offers guidance to delivering care using a holistic approach

Delivery of workplace training to:
- Help delegates to recognise the signs and symptoms that somebody may be suffering from mental ill health, to be able to assist them in the initial stages, and to direct them to the appropriate help.
- Looks at a range of mental health issues such as depression, anxiety disorders and psychosis
- Increases confidence in helping someone from hurting themselves or others
- Provide help on a first aid basis
- Spot early signs of a mental health problem

Covers the psychological and physical issues which are commonly faced by veterans and their families, and outlined some of the resources which are available to help them

Improving Access to Psychological Therapies (Online learning)
Equips practitioners with the knowledge and skills to conduct a patient-centred consultation for people with anxiety and depressive disorders. An enhanced understanding of effective psychological interventions and the IAPT programme will improve the availability of psychological therapies for patients

Suicide Prevention (Online learning)
Module 1: Sets the scene on the problem of death by suicide. The interplay of numerous factors, culminating in suicidal behaviour, is discussed in order to highlight the various opportunities to intervene.
Module 2: Takes a case-based approach, focusing on the practical aspects of suicide prevention. The scenario is set in primary care, and includes useful strategies and resources for the mitigation of suicide.
